Here are the steps you will need to take to create your biography
Read over all directions included in the wiki to gain a complete understanding of what the project is asking you to do.
Look over your notes or flip through the book to refresh your memory about individuals discussed in class. Create a list of at least three individuals you would like to learn more about.
Before completing any research, get your individual approved by Mr. Shutt. Individuals will be chosen on a “first come, first served” basis.
Read the section in the text relating to the individual to refresh what we have already discussed.
As you read through the text begin to select the major topics you would like to cover in the biography.
Begin to organize your information using note cards-just like we have already gone over in class.
Get your outline approved by Mr. Shutt to make sure you are on the right track.
Begin the research process either by taking notes from the text, finding an additional book source, or searching the internet using the following links.
Cite every note taken.
Use the internet to find additional credible sources if necessary. See the links page for more information.
Organize all note cards into a meaningful and fluid story.See the links page for more information.
Show your note cards to Mr. Shutt before beginning your paper.
Write your biography.See the links page for more information and the evaluation page for the grading criteria.
Proofread and check for errors.
Review the rubric on the evaluation page to make sure you have done everything as it should be.
Submit your assignment by uploading it to the wiki on the student work page; create a hyperlink for the 2 page biography.
Review other projects once they have been completed.
Comment on at least three biographies from other individuals in the discussion forum and include the following comments:
Positive Postings!
3 – Items you learned from the biography.
2 – Items you already knew prior to reading the biography.
1 – Aspect of the biography you would like to learn more about.
